We would plan dinner around the BBQ, then let the garden take over the evening.

Chapter one

A compact cottage for slow mornings

Neel is a one-bedroom cottage at Wildflower Farmstay, made for a small party that wants its own corner of the day. It suits two easily, with room for a third, and keeps the practical bits close: a kitchen for simple meals, a dining table for cards or laptop hours, and a balcony for stepping out between them. The garden gives the cottage its breathing room. Start with coffee outside, let breakfast take its time, then move indoors when the Maharashtra afternoon turns warm—the AC and room-darkening blinds are useful here. By evening, the outdoor dining area and BBQ make a good reason to stay put. This is someone’s home as well as a stay, so the best visits are the ones that treat its books, kitchen and garden with care.
Chapter two

A day at the house.

A few moments, in the order they tend to happen.

Arrival
14:00
Arrival

You arrive to a compact cottage with its own garden and balcony. Put the bags down, take a quick walk through the kitchen and outdoor dining area, then make the first coffee before deciding whether to head out again.

First evening
19:00
First evening

As the light drops, the outdoor dining area becomes the place to be. Use the BBQ for an unhurried dinner, or keep it simple with something cooked in the kitchen and a board game at the table.

Next morning
08:00
Next morning

Morning belongs to the garden and balcony, before the day warms up. Breakfast and coffee set an easy pace; if work is waiting, the dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi make a short session manageable.

Departure
11:00
Departure

There is time for one last cup of coffee and a slow pack-up before the 11:00 check-out. Most guests will wish they had planned one more meal outside instead of rushing back onto the road.

Chapter three

The spaces.

Bedroom

The single bedroom has AC, a ceiling fan, room-darkening blinds, clothes storage and fresh bed linen.

Bathroom

The bathroom has hot water, shower gel, shampoo, body soap and a first-aid kit kept within the cottage.

Kitchen

The kitchen is set up for simple cooking, with a kettle, coffee maker, coffee and the basics for a stay-in meal.

Dining area

A dining table inside gives meals, board games and laptop time a single shared spot.

Dedicated workspace

The workspace has Wi-Fi nearby and is useful for answering emails or settling into a short work session.

Balcony

The balcony is a small open-air place for a cup of coffee or a pause between indoor plans.

Garden

The garden gives the cottage its outdoor breathing room, with space to sit and let the day slow down.

Outdoor dining and BBQ area

The outdoor dining area and BBQ are set aside for long dinners under the open sky.

Laundry corner

A washer, tumble dryer, iron and hangers make longer stays easier to manage.

The feeling

In a word.

Unhurried

The garden is where the day naturally starts, with coffee and breakfast outside before the heat builds. The balcony gives you another quiet perch when you do not feel like going anywhere.

Companionable

For a couple or three close friends, the dining table, board games and BBQ keep everyone in the same orbit. Dinner can stretch into the evening in the outdoor dining area.

Self-contained

The kitchen, kettle and coffee maker make the cottage easy to settle into. A dedicated workspace, Wi-Fi and washer also help if a weekday has to come along.

A note from your host
We took on Neel because it works for the kind of short break that does not need a packed plan. There is enough here to cook, read, work for a few hours and eat outside without leaving the property. We tell every guest to use the garden gently and leave the cottage as they found it.
Step outside the gate

Where you are.

Koshimbale sits in the greener Khopoli side of Maharashtra, where farm plots and low hills replace the tighter pace of Mumbai and Pune. Days here tend to move around heat, rain and meal times rather than a strict itinerary. Khopoli is the practical nearby town for supplies and travel connections, while the old Mumbai–Pune route puts Lonavala and Karjat within a reasonable drive.

Good to know

Worth knowing.

  • This is a one-bedroom cottage for up to three people, so it is better for a small party than a group gathering.
  • The garden and outdoor dining area can bring mosquitoes around dusk, especially in wetter months; pack repellent.
  • Koshimbale is a farmstay setting, so a car is the easiest way to handle groceries, day trips and late arrivals.
  • The cottage is someone’s home, and the books, toys, kitchen and outdoor areas need considerate use.
  • Smoking is allowed, but keep it to the appropriate outdoor area and dispose of ash carefully.
  • The warmest part of the day can be strong in this part of Maharashtra; the AC and indoor space are useful after lunch.

Who this house suits

  • A couple’s two-night break works well here, with a private cottage, a balcony and enough kitchen space to stay in.
  • Three close friends can use it as a small base for Khopoli, Karjat or Lonavala drives without booking a large villa.
  • A work-from-anywhere weekday suits the dedicated workspace, Wi-Fi and quieter garden setting.
  • A low-key birthday or anniversary dinner fits the outdoor dining area and BBQ better than a loud party.
  • Parents travelling with one child have books, toys and board games on hand for slower hours indoors.
  • Longer stays are practical when you want a kitchen, washer, tumble dryer and clothes storage rather than a hotel room.
