What You Pay, and Why
The price you see on a property page for your dates is the price you pay. This article explains what is inside it.
The four parts
The nightly rate. Set per home and per night. Weekends cost more than midweek, and peak season — the winter holidays, long weekends, wedding season — costs more than a quiet Tuesday in August. A seven-night stay is usually a mix of rates, which is why we show it night by night rather than as an average.
Extra guest charges. Every home has a base occupancy it is priced for and a maximum it can sleep. Between the two, each additional guest adds a set amount per night. The property page states both numbers, and the breakdown shows the charge before you pay.
Our booking fee — 5%. This is what Hostizzy charges for handling the booking: the payment, the confirmation, the pre-arrival coordination, and someone reachable while you are there. It is 5% of the stay, and it is the only fee we charge. In the price breakdown it is the line marked Platform & service fee — same thing, and the reason you will not find a second service charge anywhere.
GST. Charged at the statutory rate for accommodation. See GST on your booking for why it is 5% on some stays and 18% on others.
What is not in it
No cleaning fee. No pet fee. No resort fee, linen fee, or towel fee. No second service charge on top of the 5%. No charge for a late checkout that we agreed to. If a home has something genuinely extra-cost — a chef, a bonfire, a boat — it is on the property page as an optional add-on with its price, not sprung on you at checkout.
Why the price moves when you change the dates
Because the nightly rate moves. The same home over Diwali and the same home in July are two different prices, and showing you an average would be a less honest number, not a friendlier one.
Discounts
Passport members get 5% off every booking. If you also have a promo code, you get whichever is worth more — we do not stack them, and we apply the better one automatically.
Splitting the cost with your group
If you are travelling with friends, a trip board shows the per-person, per-night figure for every home you are considering, so you can compare what each person is actually being asked for. We do not collect money from your group individually — one person books, and settling up between you is yours to arrange.
