You arrive from the hill road and let yourselves in through the private entrance. The first walk-through is about claiming bedrooms, dropping bags, and stepping out to the balcony or terrace for the mountain view.

A Barog house for the whole group
This is a house for the group that wants to stay under one roof without sharing every minute. Seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms make the practical parts easier, while the living area, dining table and game den pull people back together when they feel like it.
Barog’s hills sit outside the windows and the terrace gives the day a natural place to begin or wind down. Make a long meal in the kitchen, take it outside when the air is right, and keep the board games going after dinner. There is a garden, a BBQ setup and a fireplace for cooler evenings. It is a home base for sixteen people, with enough corners for a quieter cup of tea too.

First evening
As the air cools, the group naturally gathers around the dining table or outside furniture. Put the BBQ to work if you have brought supplies, then head indoors for board games and the fireplace.

Next morning
Morning starts slowly here, with coffee on the terrace or in the garden before the house is fully awake. The kitchen makes breakfast easy to spread out over, especially when everyone has a different schedule.

Departure
Before check-out, there is time for one last look at the hills and a final sweep for chargers in the bedrooms. Most groups leave wishing they had saved another evening for the terrace instead of making bigger plans.

The spaces.
Seven bedrooms
Seven separate bedrooms give a group of up to 16 guests proper sleeping space, with room-darkening blinds, clothes storage and extra pillows available.
Seven bathrooms
The villa has seven bathrooms with hot water, shampoo, essentials and hairdryers for the practical morning rush.
Living area
The shared living area has a TV, heating and seating for the times when the group wants to be indoors together.
Dining area
A full dining table gives everyone one place for breakfasts, shared meals and card games that run past dinner.
Game den
The game den is set aside for board games and easy indoor time when the mountain weather keeps everyone in.
Terrace and balcony
The terrace and balcony open toward the mountain setting, with outdoor furniture for tea, conversation and fresh air.
Garden and BBQ area
The garden gives the house an outdoor gathering spot, with a BBQ setup for meals that move outside.

The terrace is the place to linger over tea while the hills change with the light. Cooler Barog evenings make the fireplace feel like part of the plan rather than an afterthought.

A note from your host
We took this villa on for the way it handles a full house without putting everyone in one room. Seven bedrooms let different families keep their own rhythm; the game den, terrace and dining table give the group somewhere to meet again. We tell guests to plan at least one unhurried evening in.
Step outside the gate
Where you are.
Barog is a small hill stop on the Kalka–Shimla rail route, set among slopes, deodar-covered stretches and winding roads. The pace is slower than the busier hill towns, with mornings often feeling crisp and quiet before traffic starts moving through. Solan is the practical nearby town for supplies and a wider choice of food, while Barog itself is better suited to short walks, railway views and taking the day as it comes.
