Chapter one
A family apartment near the airport
Aryaniwas is a straightforward three-bedroom home for families who need Delhi to work around them. It sits on one level, so the day moves easily between bedrooms, bathrooms, the dining table and the kitchen. The rooms have the practical things that make a few days feel less improvised: darkening blinds for late mornings, wardrobe space, hot water, and air conditioning when the city heat settles in.
This is not a party house or a show-home. It is a useful, lived-in base for five people, with enough separation to read, work or put children to bed without everyone being in the same room. Cook a familiar meal on the gas cooker, put a board game on the table, and make use of the washer before an early flight. IGI is about 15 minutes away when traffic cooperates.

First evening
By evening, close the blinds, turn on the AC or heating as the season requires, and settle around the dining table. The kitchen is set up for a proper simple dinner, which can be easier than taking a tired group back into traffic.

Next morning
Mornings have room for different speeds: one person can take a work call while someone else gets breakfast going. The fridge, cooker, crockery and dining table make an unhurried start possible before the city gets busy.

Departure
Use the last hour for a load of laundry or a final cup of tea at the table, then check that chargers have not disappeared into the bedrooms. If you are heading to IGI, leave a buffer; the airport is close, but Delhi roads do not always move to plan.

Bedroom one
One of three separate bedrooms, with air conditioning, room-darkening blinds and wardrobe storage.
Bedroom two
A private bedroom with bed linen, extra pillows and blankets, and easy access to its own bathroom.
Bedroom three
The third bedroom gives a family or small group a separate place to sleep rather than relying on shared sleeping areas.
Three bathrooms
Three bathrooms with hot water keep the morning queue manageable for a full house.
Kitchen and dining
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, stainless steel gas cooker, cooking basics and a dining table for meals at home.
Work corner
A dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi make it possible to take a call or finish a few hours of work from the apartment.
Living area
The indoor area includes a TV and board games for a low-key evening in.

The apartment is arranged for ordinary family rhythms rather than a packed itinerary. Darkening blinds, wardrobe space and three bathrooms make mornings and bedtimes less crowded.

A dedicated workspace, reliable everyday kitchen equipment and a washer-dryer setup support longer visits as well as overnight airport plans.
A note from your host
We took Aryaniwas on because a family stay near the airport should not mean living out of suitcases in a hotel room. We keep the kitchen, laundry setup and three bathrooms ready for real schedules: late arrivals, work calls, children’s meals and early departures. Delhi traffic can be unpredictable, so we always suggest allowing extra time for airport runs.

Aryaniwas is in New Delhi, within practical reach of IGI Airport and the south-western side of the city. This is a working city setting rather than a resort neighbourhood: days start early, traffic builds around main roads, and errands, food delivery and airport transfers are part of the rhythm. The home gives you a residential place to return to after being out in Delhi, with the airport close enough to make a short stopover or a departure day less cumbersome.

Worth knowing.
- Delhi traffic can add time to airport and city journeys, even though IGI is roughly 15 minutes away in favourable conditions.
- This is a residential apartment, not a villa with a private pool, terrace or late-night outdoor setup.
- The home is single-level, which makes moving between rooms easy, but it does not offer separate floors for larger groups to spread out.
- Self check-in is available, so keep your arrival instructions and phone accessible before reaching the building.
- City sounds can be part of the background in New Delhi, particularly during busier daytime hours.
- The garden and outdoor playground are useful for a breather, but guests should follow building staff guidance for shared areas.
