Meals and Kitchens
Not every home has a kitchen team
Eight of our 39 homes come with staff who cook. The rest have a kitchen you are welcome to use yourself. The property page tells you which you are looking at — do not assume, because it changes the shape of the trip.
Where meals are offered
You will see Half Board or Full Board as options at checkout:
- Half Board — breakfast and one main meal
- Full Board — breakfast, lunch and dinner
Priced per adult per day, with lower rates for children. The exact amount depends on the home, so the property page and checkout are where to look; 5% GST applies to meals.
What gets cooked
Home-style Indian food, mostly, cooked by someone who lives locally and shops that morning. Tell us in advance if you are vegetarian, vegan, Jain, allergic to something, avoiding onion and garlic, or feeding children who will only eat three things — all of it is workable with notice, and much harder to improvise at 8pm on arrival day.
Adding meals later
WhatsApp +91 95604 93700 up to a few days before you arrive. Adding them the night before sometimes works and sometimes does not — it depends on whether the shopping can still be done.
Cooking for yourself
Where there is no kitchen team, the kitchen is yours: gas, fridge, utensils, cookware. Bring your ingredients, or ask the caretaker where the nearest market is, because at some of our homes that is a genuinely useful question.
Bringing a cook, or a caterer
For a celebration or a large group you are welcome to bring your own cook, or to have food catered in. Tell us beforehand so the house can be set up for it.
