Verifying Your Identity
Verifying Your Identity
Two different things
ID at check-in is required. Every guest staying needs a government photo ID when they arrive. That is Indian law for accommodation, it applies at every home, and the house cannot waive it. Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID; foreign nationals need passport and visa.
Verifying your profile is optional. You can book, pay and stay without ever doing it. It exists for guests who would rather establish who they are in advance than at the door.
Verifying your profile
From verification, in three steps:
- Choose an ID type and enter its number
- Upload a clear photo of the document
- Take a selfie, so the document can be matched to you
Review takes 1 to 2 business days. You will hear either way, and a verified profile carries a Verified badge.
If it is rejected
Almost always legibility: a blurred document, a glare patch across the number, a cropped edge, or a selfie that does not clearly match the photo. Retake both in daylight and submit again — there is no limit on attempts.
What we do with the documents
Stored encrypted, used to confirm you are who you say you are, and never shown to other guests. The badge on your profile says verified; it does not show your document, your ID number, or your address. Our privacy policy has the retention detail, and you can ask us to delete the documents once verification is done.
Large groups and events
For a big group booking or a celebration we sometimes ask the lead guest to verify before we confirm. If that applies to your booking we will say so directly rather than leaving you to discover a blocked checkout.
